The research project of the Department of Molecular Biology of Cancer has been nominated for the Minister of Health Award for Medical Research and Development. This is already the third nomination in the last four years. This year, the study entitled “Identification of diagnostic markers for colorectal cancer based on transcriptomic, methylome and microbiome profiling in the process of transition from adenoma to carcinoma” was selected by the members of the evaluation panel of the Czech Health Research Council, whose principal investigators were Pavel Vodička and subsequently Veronika Vymetálková, the winner of the Minister’s Prize for 2021 (open in a new window – available only in Czech). The authors of the study also include Anna Šišková from the IEM CAS, Pavel Kohout from the Thomayer University Hospital and Tomáš Hucl from IKEM in Prague.
At the beginning of October, a meeting of the Czech Health Research Council (AZV ČR) will take place at the University Hospital in Motol, which will include a presentation of the results of the nominated projects, based on which the members of the AZV ČR Research Board and the AZV ČR Board will decide which projects will be recommended for this extraordinary award.
