The three-day PragueONCO 2024 (open in a new window) interdisciplinary conference, one of the largest and most significant professional events in the Czech Republic, is currently taking place in Prague.

The incidence and prevalence of malignancies are increasing in the Czech Republic and worldwide, making oncology a key medical discipline. Research and development of new and more accurate diagnostic methods that enable early diagnosis and treatment of serious cancers is essential.

That is why our scientists from the Department of Molecular Biology of Cancer are not missing the conference, presenting the results of their successful projects. Their achievements are also reflected in a number of awards, such as the Minister’s Prize for Medical Research and Development, the Award of the CAS for outstanding results of great scientific significance and others.

The IEM CAS is represented at the conferences by:

  • Veronika Vymetálková / Non-invasive detection of circulating mRNA markers in colorectal diseases
  • Klára Vokáčová / Plasma KRAS mutations as predictive biomarkers for pancreatic cancer in high-risk group patients
  • Petr Hanák / Differences in mitochondrial DNA copy number and telomere length between individual tissues of colorectal cancer patients

We wish our colleagues a successful presentation and much success in their further research.
