Last week our scientists returned from Zurich, Switzerland, where they presented research projects in the field of toxicology and molecular epidemiology at the 27th ETH Nanoparticles Conference (open in a new window), which is annually organised by the prestigious Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (orig. ETH Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich).
The conference serves as an interdisciplinary platform for expert discussions on all aspects of nanoparticles – freshly emitted from various sources, transformed in ambient air, and distributed on a local and global scale, including technical mitigation aspects, particle legislation, and the impact of particles on health, environment, and climate. The conference brings together representatives from research, industry, and government.
The following toxicologists gave presentations at the conference on behalf of the IEM CAS:
- Táňa Závodná / Genotoxicity of Organic Extracts of Particulate Emissions from Conventional Gasoline and Alternative Fuels
- Michal Vojtíšek / Mobile test rig for field measurement of small jet engine particle emissions / Portable air-liquid interface exposure chamber for field emissions toxicity assays (poster)
We would like to thank both colleagues for the excellent presentation of the IEM CAS, and we look forward to their next successful projects.
