In mid-November, molecular biologist Veronika Vymetálková travelled to Busan, South Korea, where she presented the latest research findings from the Department of Molecular Biology of Cancer at the AACR-KCA 2025 conference.

This prestigious conference, organised by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and the Korean Cancer Association (KCA), has become one of the key international meetings focused on cancer research since 2018. This year’s programme included keynote lectures, presentations by leading global scientists, expert discussions, and an extensive poster section, creating a unique space to present results, establish international contacts, and debate the future direction of precision cancer care.

The poster presentation focused on the combined analysis of transcriptomic markers and mitochondrial DNA in tissue and plasma. The study identified two promising diagnostic biomarkers: one for the early detection of precursors (colorectal adenoma) and the other for colorectal carcinoma.

We would like to thank Veronika Vymetálková for her excellent representation of our team and Czech research at one of the world’s leading conferences in the field of oncology.
