At the beginning of March (from 1. 3. 2024), two of our research departments dealing with air pollution research were combined to make the new Department of Toxicology and Molecular Epidemiology (formerly the Dept. of Genetic Toxicology and Epigenetics and the Dept. of Nanotoxicology and Molecular Epidemiology). Both of these departments have a number of highly successful national and international research projects behind them. From the point of view of structural change, it is only a formal matter as both departments have been collaborating intensively and sharing their research results for a long time. In addition to optimising the activities of both departments, this change will also bring simplified administrative processes. The head of the department is Pavel Rössner, a long-term leader of the Nanotoxicology and Molecular Epidemiology research group.

We wish the new department much success in its follow-up and future research projects.
