The Academic Council of the CAS has elected the members of the Academy and Science Councils. Among them are Miroslava Anděrová, Director of the IEM CAS, and neuroscientist Pavla Jendelová

Congratulations to our Director Miroslava Anděrová on her election to the Academy Council of the CAS. This award is a confirmation of her extraordinary contribution to the development of research in experimental medicine, support of the scientific community and popularisation of research. We thank her for her tireless work and wish her a lot of success in her new position.

Our congratulations also go to Pavla Jendelová, Head of the Department of Neuroregeneration, who has been elected a member of the Science Council of the CAS. The Science Council plays a key role in the development of Czech science, formulates the strategic goals of the Czech Academy of Sciences and ensures excellence in research.

A total of 17 elected members of the Academy Council, including the newly appointed President of the CAS Radomír Pánek and the Chairperson of the Science Council, will serve as the executive body of the CAS for the next four years. The Science Council is the conceptual and advisory body of the Academy Council on science policy issues. It has a maximum of 30 members elected from CAS departments, universities and other institutions.
