Outstanding research results of the IEM CAS

At the IEM CAS, while we may not yet have a Nobel Prize winner, we are equally proud of our students and scientists for their consistent achievements in the field of basic biomedical research. One shining example is the nomination of the co-authored project of geneticist Veronika Vymetálková, head of Department of Molecular Biology of Cancer, for the Minister of Health Award for Medical Research. This was the 3rd nomination in the last 5 years. Although the project “The clinicopathological and molecular factors detected in metastases, predicting of treatment response in colon cancer patients” did not succeed in the strong competition of other projects, we consider the nomination itself a great success, and it is proof of the excellence of research at the IEM CAS.
