She is engaged in research to help treat one of the most common cancers in the Czech Republic. Veronika Vymetálková is a scientist and a mother of two young children who has recently undergone cancer treatment herself. She won her battle with the disease and returned to the IEM CAS laboratories. There, she tries to find specific markers in the blood of patients with colorectal cancer, which could either predict the return of cancer or reveal why cancer treatment does not work in some patients and does in others.
Don’t miss exciting interviews with a geneticist Veronika Vymetálková, published in the online magazine Deník Zdraví (open in a new window – available only in Czech) and the popularisation magazine of the Czech Academy of Sciences A / Magazín (open in a new window – available only in Czech).
