This year’s edition of the Science Fair (open in a new window – available only in Czech) was held in the spirit of the motto “I enjoy the world of science” and the offer of exhibitions was very rich. “The Science Fair always offers a selection of all fields of science under one roof – whether you are interested in chemistry, physics, space, animals, plants or even music, there is something for everyone. We, therefore, wanted the variety of exhibitions, the accompanying programme and the enthusiasm of colleagues from the whole Academy to be reflected in a fitting motto,” said Kateřina Sobotková, Director of the External Relations Division of the Centre of Administration and Operations of the CAS, on behalf of the organisers.

The Science Fair was held for the first time in 2015 and successfully developed until the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2022, however, it has been attracting visitors again and in ever-greater numbers. While the record before the pandemic in 2019 was around 30,000 visitors, this year’s attendance is estimated at more than 58,000.

On Thursdays and Fridays, the halls are generally full, especially in the morning when schoolchildren and students come for their lessons, while on Saturdays, the fair is mainly visited by families with children. Moreover, this Saturday, 1 June, fell on Children’s Day, and since it was raining outside, the fair halls were literally jammed with people interested in scientific adventures.

Thank you to all our visitors, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!
