On Wednesday, January 28, the Langhans café hosted the launch of a new book, Neviditelné ženy ve vědě (Invisible Women in Science), by award-winning science journalist and populariser Pavla Hubálková. The book features twelve unique and inspiring interviews with successful female Czech scientists from various fields. Each of them has her own theme, approach, and life path – but they all share a strong motivation, curiosity, and desire to change the world for the better.
Among the selected respondents is molecular biologist Lenka Šlachtová, head of the new research group at the IEM CAS – Department of Neurogenetics. Her research focuses on the genetic and molecular mechanisms of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a rare and progressive neurodegenerative disease.
Don’t miss her interview and discover the stories of women who are advancing Czech science.
