Kymolyzer: A tool for automatic analysis of time-lapse microscopic data

In addition to research, we also develop our own innovative tools that facilitate and streamline the work of scientists. One such tool is Kymolyzer, open-source software for automatic analysis of time-lapse microscopic data, developed by the Department of Functional Organisation of Biomembranes.

The tool can automatically:

  • Identify objects in microscope videos.
  • Track their movement (direction, speed).
  • Measure the duration of their occurrence.
  • Analyse colocalisation in two fluorescence channels.

It is ideal for researchers working with live cells who want to obtain accurate data without the need for manual evaluation.

The tool was developed with the support of the Czech-BioImaging national infrastructure and is freely available under a CC BY-NC licence on GitHub (open in a new window). Thank you!
