Neuroscientist Kristýna Kárová has successfully completed the Lorem Ipsum Executive Academy (open in a new window) and received an award for the best final project presentation. Thirty-five scientists from biotechnology and related disciplines initially enrolled in the programme. From this group, the selection committee chose 12 participants who became the academy’s first graduates – and Kristýna ultimately emerged as the overall winner.
She presented her project as a pitch deck, a type of presentation commonly used in investor negotiations. In such presentations, startup founders introduce their product, business model, and the overall potential of their project while seeking financial backing. Kristýna prepared a pitch deck for a fictional company, and it was precisely this presentation that impressed the jury enough to secure her the top award. As part of the prize, she will also complete a professional internship at i&i Prague.
The Lorem Ipsum Academy was created through the collaboration of IP Lab Ventures, Prague.bio, and Technologická gramotnost (Technological Literacy). Together, these partners aim to support the entire journey from an initial scientific idea to the establishment of a successful technology company.
The academy is built on a simple premise: scientific discoveries should not remain hidden in a drawer. The programme connects the worlds of science and business and offers eight intensive modules designed to help participants transform cutting-edge research into projects with real societal and market impact. It is primarily intended for young talent among doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
During the programme, participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as:
- business strategy and leadership,
- technology transfer and intellectual property,
- communication with investors and navigating the investment environment,
- the use of public funding to support innovative projects.
We congratulate Kristýna on this outstanding achievement and wish her continued success in her future projects at the intersection of science, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
