μLectures is a monthly seminar series designed to enhance researchers’ understanding of the fundamental workings and principles of microscopy. Each session, lasting 30 minutes, focuses on a specific concept or topic within microscopy. The practical information presented aims to deepen researchers’ comprehension of their microscopy experiments, giving them a better overview of the options available and enabling them to improve their experimental design and more effectively identify and resolve potential issues.
This seminar will explore the use of live animals in microscopy and introduce intravital imaging as a powerful tool for studying biological processes in their native physiological context. We will discuss the cases in which intravital imaging is the method of choice, and when alternatives are more appropriate. Moreover, we will address the ways in which the core facility can support researchers in establishing and carrying out such experiments. The talk will also discuss the principles of intravital two- and three-photon microscopy, highlight its advantages or limitations and summarize possible benefits.
It will be followed by a discussion on intravital imaging opportunities and the planned upgrades at our facility.
The seminar will take place on Monday 29.9.2025 from 1 p.m. in the Turquoise Auditorium of the IEM CAS. It will also be possible to join online using this link (open in a new window).
Registration is not required, but we will be happy if you can let us know if you are planning to come (in person or at iva.svecova@iem.cas.cz).
