Cell sorting of tumour or peripheral white blood cells as a promising platform in precision oncology
Lecturer: Petr Hanák, Ph.D. / Department of Molecular Biology of Cancer
Assessments of molecular parameters of immune cells of colorectal cancer patients, like telomere length, are routinely done on the white blood cell fraction of these patients. The method of cell sorting enables the stratification of samples into subpopulations of immunocytes like NK cells and/or Tc that should respond to the mass of altered cancer cells in a more straightforward and more defined way. Moreover, these cells can be separated by the same approach from the overwhelming majority of genuine cancer cells from tumours extracted during surgery. This potentially could allow the establishment of a relationship between the immunological context inside the tumour and corresponding immune cells obtained by a micro-invasive approach and in a serial manner from patients´ blood.
The seminar will take place on 5. 6. 2025 from 2 p.m. in the Turquoise Auditorium of the IEM CAS.
We look forward to your participation.
