Our PhD student, Magui Khazaal from the Department of Neurogenetics, has achieved an outstanding result in the prestigious competition Ma thèse en 180 secondes, organised by the French Institute in Prague in cooperation with academic and research institutions.

This unique event, dedicated to science communication, challenges participants to present their years of research to a general audience – in French in just 3 minutes.

Magui delivered an excellent performance, describing her thesis focused on the genetics of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and earned 2nd place from the expert jury and also the Audience Award. This double success reflects not only the quality of her research, but also her ability to communicate science clearly and engagingly.

Thanks to this achievement, she has qualified for the Central European final, which will take place on June 15 in Vienna, where she will represent both herself and our institute.

This success is a great example of how essential it is to share scientific knowledge with clarity and enthusiasm, and of the significant impact that high-quality science communication can have.

Big congratulations, Magui, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for the final.
