🇨🇿 Biomedicínským výzkumem k efektivní diagnostice a léčbě
🇬🇧 Biomedical research towards effective diagnosis and treatment
Jak usnadnit cestu vědeckých objevů do praxe? A co Jak usnadnit cestu vědeckých objevů do praxe? A co potřebují biotechnologické startupy, aby mohly své nápady rozvíjet v Evropě? 🇪🇺 I těmto otázkám se věnovala konference 👉 Prague.bio 2026, na které náš ústav zastupovala neurovědkyně 👩‍🔬 Kristýna Kárová. Ta nedávno úspěšně absolvovala Lorem Ipsum Executive Academy, která propojuje svět vědy a podnikání, 🏅 a získala ocenění za nejlepší závěrečnou prezentaci projektu. Na konferenci se vydala načerpat další inspiraci, navázat nové kontakty a poznat možnosti spolupráce mezi výzkumem a biotechnologickými firmami. 🔬 💡Program nabídl přednášky a diskuze o podmínkách pro rozvoj inovativních projektů v Evropě a legislativních změnách, které mají pomoci odstranit překážky na národní i evropské úrovni. Nechyběla ani soutěž v krátkých prezentacích před investory (tzv. pitch session) a posterová sekce. Na konferenci vystoupil také ministr zdravotnictví 👨‍💼 Adam Vojtěch a řada dalších významných hostů z akademické i podnikatelské sféry. Odvážíme si nové podněty i kontakty. 🤝 Právě podobná setkání mohou otevřít cestu ke spolupráci, která pomůže proměnit výsledky výzkumu v řešení využitelná v klinické praxi. 📸 Na společných fotografiích je Kristýna Kárová se zástupci biotechnologického klastru Prague.bio, asociace EuropaBio a investičního fondu i&i Prague | i&i Biotech Fund. 🇬🇧 How can we help scientific discoveries reach practical applications? And what do biotech start-ups need to develop their ideas in Europe? 🇪🇺 These were among the questions explored at the 👉 Prague.bio Conference 2026, where our institute was represented by neuroscientist 👩‍🔬 Kristýna Kárová. She recently completed the Lorem Ipsum Executive Academy, which bridges science and business, 🏅 and won the award for the best final project presentation. She attended the conference to gain further inspiration, make new connections and explore opportunities for collaboration between research institutions and biotech companies. 🔬 We came away with fresh ideas and new contacts. 🤝 Events like these can pave the way for collaborations that help translate research findings into solutions for clinical practice. Sdílet výsledky výzkumu, navazovat nové kontakty a Sdílet výsledky výzkumu, navazovat nové kontakty a propojovat vědce a vědkyně napříč generacemi. 🎯 Právě s tímto cílem se naše kolegyně 👩‍🔬 Natálie Danešová zúčastnila mezinárodní konference 👉 International Conference on Environmental Mutagens (ICEM 2026), která se konala ve dnech 6.–10. září v Edinburghu. Natálie zde představila studii 👩‍🏫 „Interplay between mitochondrial DNA integrity and microbial dysbiosis in obesity“, která se věnuje souvislostem mezi integritou mitochondriální DNA a narušením mikrobiální rovnováhy při obezitě. Jako členka výkonného výboru skupiny New Investigators při odborné společnosti European Environmental Mutagenesis & Genomics Society 🧬 se zároveň podílela na přípravě programu pro začínající vědce a vědkyně. Pomáhala organizovat dvě konferenční sekce i neformální setkání Networking Lunch a Pub Crawl. 🤝 Tato setkání propojila začínající vědce a vědkyně se zkušenějšími kolegy a kolegyněmi a vytvořila příležitost k neformálním rozhovorům, výměně zkušeností i navázání nových kontaktů. Děkujeme Natálii za reprezentaci ÚEM AV ČR i za její zapojení do aktivit, které podporují setkávání a spolupráci ve vědecké komunitě! 💙 🇬🇧 Sharing research findings, building new connections and bringing together researchers across generations. 🎯 These were the aims behind our colleague 👩‍🔬 Natálie Danešová’s participation in the 👉 International Conference on Environmental Mutagens (ICEM 2026), held in Edinburgh from 6 to 10 September. Natálie presented her study, 👩‍🏫 “Interplay between mitochondrial DNA integrity and microbial dysbiosis in obesity”, which explores the relationship between mitochondrial DNA integrity and disruptions to microbial balance in obesity. As a member of the Executive Committee of the European Environmental Mutagenesis & Genomics Society’s 🧬 New Investigators group, she also helped develop the programme for early-career researchers. She co-organised two conference sessions and two informal networking events: a Networking Lunch and a Pub Crawl. 🤝 Thank you, Natálie, for representing the IEM CAS and for helping to bring the scientific community together and encourage collaboration! 💙 #iemcas
Za dveřmi laboratoří bylo v pátek večer pořádně ži Za dveřmi laboratoří bylo v pátek večer pořádně živo! 🤩 🌆 Po setmění jsme otevřeli budovy ÚEM AV ČR a jejich chodby proměnili v modře nasvícenou cestu za vědou. V tajuplné atmosféře jste s mapkou v ruce nahlíželi do našich laboratoří 🧪 a setkávali se s našimi vědci a vědkyněmi přímo tam, kde vzniká jejich výzkum. Vyprávěli Vám o své práci, společně s Vámi experimentovali a s radostí odpovídali na Vaše dotazy. 💬 A jak je vidět na fotografiích, ani na chvíli se nezastavili. @nocvedy.cz přilákala do Areálu výzkumných ústavů AV ČR celkem 585 návštěvníků. 😍 Za tímhle večerem stojí spousta lidí, proto bychom rádi poděkovali kolegům a kolegyním z ostatních ústavů – @fyziologickyustav_avcr, @mbu_avcr a @imgprague, se kterými jsme pro Vás letošní Noc vědy připravovali. ❤️ Speciální poděkování pak patří všem z ÚEM AV ČR za jejich nadšení, úsměvy a skvělou reprezentaci našeho ústavu. 👏 ❗A pamatujte,... věda se u nás znovu probudí po setmění v září 2028! 😉 🇬🇧 Our laboratories were buzzing on Friday evening! 🤩 🌆 After dark, we opened the doors of the IEM CAS and turned its corridors into a blue-lit trail of discovery. Map in hand, you explored our laboratories 🧪 and met our researchers where they do their work. They shared their research, invited you to join in with experiments and answered your questions. 💬 As the photos show, they barely stopped all evening. Researchers’ Night @nocvedy.cz brought 585 people to the Czech Academy of Sciences research campus. 😍 Many people made the evening happen. Tomorrow, during Researchers’ Night @nocvedy.cz, we’ll invite you right into our laboratories. 🗺️ With a map in hand, you’ll explore selected departments at the IEM CAS and meet our researchers where they carry out their work. Try your hand at pipetting or using a micromanipulator, watch cells under a microscope, and see experiments with liquids and "dancing bubbles". 🫧 You can also look inside an operating room, discover how liquid biopsies work 🩸 and learn how the body responds to bone implants. Most of all, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. 💬 Six of our research departments and our Microscopy Service Centre (a member of the @czechbioimaging national research infrastructure) will open their laboratory doors.
