🥇 První místo v soutěži Early Career Researcher Po 🥇 První místo v soutěži Early Career Researcher Poster Prize. 🥳 Naše kolegyně a čerstvá absolventka doktorského studia 👩‍🎓 Tereza Červená z Oddělení toxikologie a molekulární epidemiologie získala toto ocenění na mezinárodní konferenci 👉 Inhaled Particles and International Particle Toxicology Conference, pořádané odbornou společností British Occupational Hygiene Society @bohsworld. Konference sdružuje přední odborníky zabývající se výzkumem toxických účinků inhalovaných částic a jejich dopady na lidské zdraví a pracovní i životní prostředí. 🏭 Tereza prezentovala svůj výzkum zaměřený na vliv ❄️ zimních automobilových emisí 🚗 na stresovou a protivirovou reakci buněk dýchacích cest. Gratulujeme k úžasnému výsledku a skvělé reprezentaci ÚEM AV ČR. 👏 🇬🇧 🥇 First place in the Early Career Researcher Poster Prize competition. 🥳 Tereza Červená, our colleague and recent 👩‍🎓 PhD graduate from the Department of Toxicology and Molecular Epidemiology, received this award at the 👉 Inhaled Particles and International Particle Toxicology Conference organised by the British Occupational Hygiene Society @bohsworld. The conference brings together leading experts engaged in research on the toxic effects of inhaled particles and their impact on human health, the workplace, and the environment. 🏭 Tereza presented her research focusing on the effect of ❄️ winter automobile emissions 🚗 on the stress and antiviral responses of airway cells. Co ale takhle třeba... neuron? 😉 @akademievedcr letos poprvé nabízí speciální stage, na které mimo jiné zazní neobvyklé zvuky vědy. Jedním z nich bude i autentická nahrávka odpovědi neuronu na zvukový podnět, 🧠 kterou připravili vědci a vědkyně z Oddělení neurofyziologie sluchu ÚEM AV ČR. Přijďte do 18. července na 🎤 Curiosity stage AV ČR a zažijte vědu na vlastní uši. 👂 🇬🇧 It’s no surprise that we can listen to Twenty One Pilots, LP or Mirai during the @colours_cz. But how about... a neuron? 😉 For the first time this year, the Czech Academy of Sciences @akademievedcr introduces a special stage featuring, among other things, the unusual sounds of science. One of them will be an authentic recording of a neuron responding to an auditory stimulus, 🧠 prepared by scientists from the Department of Auditory Neuroscience of the IEM CAS. 🧠 Neurohory 2026: Věda, hory a skvělá společnost ⛰ 🧠 Neurohory 2026: Věda, hory a skvělá společnost ⛰️ 👨‍🔬 Naši neurovědci a neurovědkyně strávili společný víkend v Krkonoších, konkrétně na chatě Střediska společných činností AV ČR v Dolních Mísečkách, kde proběhl již druhý ročník Neurohor – neformálního setkání výzkumných týmů z 👉 Oddělení neurochemie, Oddělení buněčné neurofyziologie a Oddělení regenerace nervové tkáně. Společně vyrazili na krkonošské hřebeny, 🥾 kde vedle výšlapů k prameni Labe, na Sněžku nebo Černou skálu nechyběl ani prostor pro to nejdůležitější – 💬 sdílení zkušeností, diskuze o aktuálním výzkumu a hledání nových příležitostí ke spolupráci. Ať už na horských stezkách nebo večer u ohně, o vědu nebyla nouze. 🔥🔬 Děkujeme všem za skvělou atmosféru a těšíme se na další ročník! 💙 🇬🇧 🧠 Neurohory 2026: Science, mountains and great company ⛰️ For the second year in a row, 👨‍🔬 our neuroscientists swapped the laboratory for the Krkonoše Mountains, coming together at the Centre of Administration and Operations of the CAS chalet in Dolní Mísečky for Neurohory 2026. The retreat brought together researchers from the 👉 Departments of Neurochemistry, Cellular Neurophysiology, and Neuroregeneration. Alongside hikes 🥾 to the source of the Elbe, Sněžka – the Czech Republic's highest peak – and Černá skála, participants had plenty of opportunities to 💬 exchange ideas, discuss ongoing research, and spark new collaborations. The retreat offered countless opportunities for scientific discussions, whether during hikes or around the evening campfire. 🔥🔬 A big thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Neurohory such an inspiring and enjoyable event. Zatímco si školáci užívají zasloužené prázdniny, 🏖 Zatímco si školáci užívají zasloužené prázdniny, 🏖️ u nás už naplno běží přípravy nových popularizačních projektů. 😉 Pojďme si připomenout některé z akcí, které jsme uspořádali na závěr školního roku. Jak se z buněk vytvářejí trojrozměrné tkáně? 🧫 A jak vypadá běžný den vědce a vědkyně v laboratoři? Přesně to si vyzkoušeli studenti a studentky @gjo_kh v Kutné Hoře během interaktivního workshopu, který připravil tým 👉 Oddělení regenerace nervové tkáně z výzkumného centra @biocev_science. Pod vedením 👨‍🔬 Yuriyho Petrenka, Jarmily Havelkové, Elišky Fialové a Marharyty Kurianové si studenti vyzkoušeli práci s buňkami, tvorbu trojrozměrných struktur i sestavení vlastního bioreaktoru. Součástí programu byla také diskuze o vědecké kariéře a možnostech studia. 💬 ℹ️ Tato akce se uskutečnila díky podpoře European Inventor Network v rámci grantu @europeanpatentoffice zaměřeného na popularizaci vědy, technologií a inovací mezi mladými lidmi. ❤️ Více se dočtete na našem webu: 👀 bit.ly/4vm6f30 🇬🇧 While students are enjoying their well-deserved summer break, 🏖️ we are already hard at work preparing a new series of science outreach projects. 😉 Let’s highlight some of the events we organised at the end of the school year. How can living cells be used to create three-dimensional tissues? 🧫 And what does a typical day in a research laboratory look like? Students from the Jiří Orten Gymnasium @gjo_kh in Kutná Hora explored these questions during an interactive workshop organised by the 👉 Department of Neuroregeneration from the @biocev_science. Guided by 👨‍🔬 Yuriy Petrenko, Jarmila Havelková, Eliška Fialová and Marharyta Kurianova, the students gained hands-on experience in cell culture techniques, creating three-dimensional tissue structures and assembling their own bioreactor.
