It is with deep sadness that we inform you about the recent passing of long-time collaborator and excellent scientist RNDr. Zdeněk Zídek, DrSc.
Dr. Zídek was a renowned expert in the field of Pharmacology, the holder of numerous international patents and scientific awards. Of particular note is his collaboration with Prof. Holý and the IOCHB of the CAS, in which he participated in the discovery of new substances with immunomodulatory activity, which are used in the treatment of HIV. He also collaborated intensively with a number of other academic and university departments, e.g. the Institute of Microbiology of the CAS, the Institute of Pharmacology and the medical faculties of Charles University. At the IEM CAS, he headed the Department of Immunopharmacology and the Pharmacological Analysis Unit for many years.
