The Czech Academy of Sciences is launching another year of the Open Science programme (Otevřená věda), which offers high school students a unique opportunity to experience the work of a scientist in person. Students can apply from 1 to 30 November, and the internships will begin in January. The project, which has been running for 20 years, aims to get young people excited about science, offer them valuable practical experience and motivate them to study science at university.
Apply for our popularisation internship (open in a new window – only available in Czech) and discover the world of science from a new perspective. Let’s experiment with social media!
Do you enjoy social media? Do you want to see into the lab of a leading research institution and participate in the communication of biomedical topics? Become part of the PR team, and join us in creating exciting and original content and help us make science accessible to young people. Who are we looking for? Someone who has experience with social media management (IG, FB) with at least a few hundred followers and who is reliable. Why? You’ll not only learn from us, but we’ll learn from you: you’ll show us how the younger generation works with networks and help us look at the scientific research environment through the eyes of high school students. We expect you to know SoMe trends and algorithms. You should be creative and a great writer and know that a typo can kill an otherwise great post or at least create a storm in the comments. A sense of design is also essential. We don’t expect you to be a Renaissance artist, but recognising red from green and knowing that we don’t want Comic Sans fonts is necessary. Bonus points for a sense of humour! If you can prove your talents and skills and enjoy your time with us, we’ll be happy to offer you a flexible contract (DPP) for another year at the end of your internship.
