PhD Conference 2024 of the IEM CAS

On May 6-8, 2024, after a five-year-long break, the next edition of the IEM CAS PhD Conference will take place. Unfortunately, the COVID season and related restrictions obstructed regular meetings of our junior scientists. That is why we have chosen the Chateau Třešt’ (open in a new window) for this year’s conference, which offers a representative atmosphere and will support the exceptional character of this meeting. 

In connection with the uniqueness of this event, we will also welcome the participation of invited VIP guests and speakers, including:

• Petr Baldrian – President of Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR), 
• Ondřej Slabý – President of Czech Health Research Council (AZV ČR), 
• Pavla Hubálková – scientist, populariser and the author of the Science Communication book, 

and two successful former postdocs of the IEM CAS:

• Jiří Růžička – project manager of the i&i Prague Bio-Innovation Center 
• and Josef Horák – postdoctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute.

During the three-day conference, 39 PhD students will present their projects, 8 of them in the poster session. The rest of the 96 registered participants are our postdocs, scientists, department heads, and members of the International Advisory Board of the IEM CAS. The conference will offer not only a space for professional discussions but also for making important contacts and cooperating across our research departments.
