Tomorrow, the first panel discussion as part of Colours of Ostrava 2025 will take place, moderated by populariser and science journalist Pavla Hubálková.
The debate with Kateřina Hoňková and Ondřej Kořistka will take you into the fascinating world of astronomy and nuclear physics, where the greatest mysteries of the universe and the basic building blocks of matter intertwine. Together, they will present the key principles and latest discoveries changing our view of the world around us.
Toxicologist Kateřina Hoňková moves between two seemingly incompatible worlds – astronomy and toxicology. At the IEM CAS, she works in the Department of Toxicology and Molecular Epidemiology, where she uses DNA analysis to investigate how air pollution affects human health. Her interdisciplinary approach combines knowledge of the universe with understanding the processes that affect life on Earth.
