Kristýna Kárová: Making a discovery is only the beginning. What comes next matters just as much

Neuroscientist Kristýna Kárová from the Department of Neuroregeneration investigates how nerve cells can regenerate following spinal cord injury. Last year, she completed the four-month Prague.bio Executive Academy (open in a new window), an intensive programme designed to equip biotechnology researchers with the leadership, management and entrepreneurial skills needed to turn scientific discoveries into real-world innovations. Her final project impressed the expert judging panel and earned her first place.

“From the very beginning of their academic careers, scientists should have at least a basic understanding of how to approach their research and discoveries so that new technologies and therapies can ultimately reach patients,” says Kristýna.
