Our colleagues Eva Filová, Jana Daňková and Táňa Závodná recently attended the kick-off meeting of the international RESBONREG – Electrically Stimulated 3D Scaffold for Bone Regeneration project, held in Graz, Austria.
The project brings together research teams from the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. The consortium comprises Graz University of Technology (Austria), Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and the IEM CAS. Together, the partners aim to develop novel multifunctional hybrid 3D scaffolds for bone regeneration.
The teams will investigate the use of electrical stimulation to enhance cell–biomaterial interactions, promote new bone formation and improve the biomechanical properties of regenerated tissue. The project will also provide new insights into the mechanisms regulating bone remodelling and angiogenesis – two fundamental processes essential for the successful healing of bone defects.
“International collaboration is essential for addressing complex scientific challenges. By bringing together the expertise and experience of each research team, we can tackle questions that would be difficult to solve individually. I believe the RESBONREG project will generate important new knowledge for the development of next-generation biomaterials,” says Eva Filová, Head of the Department of Tissue Engineering and Principal Investigator of the project from the IEM CAS.
We wish the entire consortium much success and look forward to the first results of this promising collaboration.
